Southern Round 5/Southern Championships - Alton, Hampshire

The penultimate round of the Southern regional series was also the Southern Championships and a good chance to check out the National Championship course for 2010!

The course certainly didnt ride well in practice and left a lot of riders preparing themselves for a hard slogg through the mud but as the gun went and the riders settled into race pace it turned out to be a decent course although arguably not quite up to National Championship standard.

We had Ben and Nat once again battling it out in the Junior category and once again producing podiums with a 1st for Ben and 3rd for Nat - there is simply no stopping these two youngsters just now! This now makes Ben not only the Welsh National Champion but the Southern Area Champion too!

Paul went into the Elite race looking for a result after a disappointing season so far and put in a solid ride to take 6th and his best result of the season. This now leaves both Ben and Nat in the driving seat in the overall series with just one race remaining.
