Alex Baker After such a hard days racing the day before the team refuelled and got an early night ready for the British Marathon Champs. With the sun out again and even stronger thean the day before it was going to be a tough task for some tired legs to have a go and especially tough for Chris, Brodie and Will who were diving into the 100km Championship event around the very hilly and unforgiving Margam Park circuit.

As the gun went to signal the start of the 100km race it was clear that Chris had every intention of getting a good place as he comfortably sat within the leading group among which was Olympian Oli Beckingsale, Dave Collins, Paul Oldham, Nick Craig and many other top riders. Matt Read 'Mechanic'However the heat and the efforts of the previous day took hold at the 50km mark and Chris was no longer able to carry on suffering from exhaustion and dehydration on what was a scorching day in Wales.

Behind him Will and Brodie were battling it out to see who would be the next monkey home but both riders too decided to call it a day after 50km both exhausted but content with their efforts on a very tough course.

Chris Andrews Meanwhile in the 50km race Ben was storming round with competition from the South African riders from the DCM Chrome team. Ben kept up his high tempo for the duration of the 50km race eventually finishing an excellent 5th! Nat had different intentions and after a hard race the day before just went along for the ride and cruised round the course having plenty of Monkey fun along the way!

Will Cooper And in the 25km race Alex was also having a flyer, making it all look to easy, our youngest rider finished 2nd and gave us our first podium of the weekend with a great display of riding.

Our results capped a great weekend for Orange Monkey, and with plenty of attention from passers by the team are looking in great shape for the rest of the season.
