Orange Monkey Team Launch 2009
Orange Monkey Cycling Team is delighted to
introduce their all new line up for 2009!
The team have re-launched with a host of new riders, new faces and a real change
of look for the new season. Orange Monkey started in 2004 and has grown from strength
to strength and is now one of the most recognised MTB teams in the UK. We believe
the time is now right to move up to the next level and as such have re-launched
for 2009 with new sponsors, new kit and new bikes and will now look to move forward
with the goal of regular International racing in the not too distant future.
The team will be using Cannondale bikes supplied through Heales Cycles, KCNC components
supplied by Clee Cycles, Schwalbe tyres, Catlike helmets, Northwave shoes and Defeet
socks, supplied through Jim Walker and will be travelling to the French Pyrenees courtesy
of Les Sorbiers.com. This is in addition to our loyal sponsors Bioracer, Torq, Joolze
Dymond & cyclenoodle.com.
We will be using a mixture of Scalpel and Taurine Cannondale bikes supplied through
our main sponsor, Heales Cycles. These race machines are in a league of their own
with top of the range technology, stiffness and a weight advantage that sees the
Taurine Team bike weigh in at an incredible eighteen and a half pounds!
We are both proud and honoured to welcome our new sponsors and continue with our
current ones giving us an overall package that we believe will help us to push for
glory in the coming months.
The team have also seen the arrival of two new faces. Chris Andrews has arrived
and will race Elite in 2009. Chris, already well known to the team, is a popular
character with bundles of talent and a real hunger to succeed at the highest level.
Matt Read has also joined the team as our mechanic and will join us to all National
and International events in 2009 to help prepare the team and keep our Cannondale
bikes in top working order.
